How can I repay the lifetime of opportunities offered me by the optometric profession, the American Academy of Optometry and the AAOF? What a privilege it has been to be a part of an exciting, dynamic and ever-changing field! I have received so much more than I could ever give: the educational opportunities, the wonderful fellowship with optometric leaders, access to the best and brightest minds, and the constant breakthroughs in our chosen field. It has challenged me, rewarded me and excited me for nearly five decades.

Now I'm in that fortunate position where I can make my own investments in the future of the profession; that's been my lifelong passion. Now more than ever, our field needs talented young leaders to build on the achievements of the past. I want to help attract and nurture this vital talent.

And behind all this goodwill is the engine that drives me to fulfill my faith's doctrine—Tzedakah, "doing the right thing."

So why did I give to the American Academy of Optometry Foundation? I want to help assure the future of our great profession. And, it's the right thing to do!
